A line graph that compares how often the Hypnotoad action terms appear in Google’s corpus of over 5 million digitized books, 1900-2010
This Ngram viewer presents the results of four searches of Google’s digitized books corpus for: hypnotic drone/droning, hypnotic hum/humming, hypnotic buzz/buzzing, and hypnotic thrum/thumming. The results are merely suggestive, with hypnotic being used in conjunction with droning more often than the other options. This is not surprising given that droning, by definition, can have hypnotic effects.
